Placements are open, and we need your introductions
You can now apply for training placements inside ChamberOS. There is nothing on the board yet, and the fastest way that changes is an introduction from you.
Something new is open on ChamberOS, and it needs your help to be worth anything.
Placements
There is now a Placements board, under Workspace in the app and in the menu on the web. Organisations can offer training placements and attachments, and you can apply without leaving the app. Your CV goes with the application, you can see when someone has opened it, and you can follow what happens next instead of wondering.
These are placements, not jobs. What is on offer is training, supervision and real matters to learn on. Some carry a stipend and some do not, and the listing says which before you apply. You should never discover that at the interview.
Every organisation on there is checked by us before it can post. They give us photo identification and a contract on their own letterhead, so you are applying to places we have actually verified rather than a name in a WhatsApp broadcast.
It is not only chambers
A law degree opens more doors than litigation. In-house legal teams, banks, insurers, regulators, NGOs, agencies and startups all need people who can read a contract and think clearly about risk, and all of them take students.
So when you think of who to tell, think wider than a courtroom.
The part we need you for
A placements board with nothing on it helps nobody. Right now there is nothing, and the fastest way that changes is you.
If you know anywhere that could take a law student for a few weeks, send them to chamberos.io/employers. Registration is free. What they are being asked for is training and exposure, not a payroll commitment.
Your uncle who practises in Ikeja counts. So does the company your cousin works at, the NGO your church runs, the firm you did your attachment with, and the legal team your lecturer mentioned. One introduction from you is worth more than a hundred cold emails from us.
What you can do today
- Open Placements and have a look, even though it is quiet.
- Send chamberos.io/employers to one organisation you know. Just one.
- When you do get a placement through here, leave a review. Organisations are shown your year and university, never your name, so you can be honest.
That last one matters more than it sounds. Reviews are how the next set of students know which places are worth their time.
