Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ChamberOS (the "Service"), operated by Fola Adeyeye ("ChamberOS", "we", "us"). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and currently or recently enrolled as a law student (or a member of a chamber/legal community using the Service) to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.

2. The Service

ChamberOS provides tools including a CGPA tracker, study planner, chambers management, and group messaging. The Service is provided to help you organise your academic and chamber life; it is a personal productivity and community tool, not an official academic, institutional, or legal record.

2.1 CGPA Tracker disclaimer

CGPA and grade calculations shown in the Service are estimates based on the information you enter. They are for informational purposes only, are not derived from or verified against your institution's official records, and must not be relied on as a substitute for your official transcript or results.

2.2 Chambers disclaimer

"Chambers" created within ChamberOS are user-organised communities. They are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official record of any university, faculty, or chambers body unless expressly stated otherwise. Roles, membership, and activity shown in a chamber reflect what members have entered and are not verified by ChamberOS.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@chamberos.io if you suspect unauthorised use.

4. Acceptable Use

When using Group Chat, chambers, or any community feature, you agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or bully other users.
• Post false, defamatory, or misleading information, including misrepresenting your academic standing or chamber role.
• Share exam materials, coursework, or other content in violation of your institution's academic integrity policies.
• Upload content that infringes another person's intellectual property or privacy.
• Use the Service to spam, scrape, or distribute malware.
• Impersonate another person or organisation, including any chamber, faculty, or institution.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms, though we do not proactively monitor all messages and are not responsible for content posted by users.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (messages, posts, study plans). By submitting content, you grant ChamberOS a licence to host, store, and display it as necessary to operate the Service. You are solely responsible for the content you post.

6. Fees

The Service is currently offered free of charge. We may introduce paid plans or premium features in the future; if we do, we will give you advance notice and existing free features will not be moved behind a paywall without notice.

7. Intellectual Property

The ChamberOS name, logo, and Service (excluding user content) are the property of ChamberOS. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, pose a risk to other users, or if we discontinue the Service, with notice where reasonably practicable.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that CGPA calculations, deadlines, or any other output will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. You are responsible for independently verifying any academic information critical to your studies.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChamberOS will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including reliance on CGPA calculations or academic planning tools. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months (or, if you have not paid us anything, will be limited to a nominal amount).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify ChamberOS against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, given the Service's primary user base. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
