How to Get the Most from Skills Lab

Flashcards, statutes, citation training, and curated courses in one place, with a simple routine to study actively.

Skills Lab is where ChamberOS turns your reading into practice. It brings flashcards, a statute library, a citation trainer, and curated courses into one place. Here is what each tab does, and a simple routine to study actively instead of just reading over your notes.

Moving around Skills Lab

Skills Lab has four tabs: Cards, Statutes, Citation, and Courses. Swipe left and right between them, or tap the tab names at the top. Whatever you open in a tab stays where you left it, so you can move around without losing your place.

Cards

Cards is a flashcard system for terms, definitions, cases, and concepts.

  • Play a deck to go through cards one at a time, marking each as known or needing more review.
  • Make your own cards with a term and a definition, and tag them by course.
  • Study the starter deck to get going straight away.

Testing yourself, which is what flashcards do, is one of the best ways to remember legal principles and case names. A few minutes a day beats one long cram.

Statutes

Statutes is your library of Acts, ready to read on your phone.

  • Open a statute pack to see the Acts inside.
  • Open an Act to read it in the built in reader.
  • Reading works even with no signal once you have opened an Act, because ChamberOS saves it on your device.

For the full walkthrough, including the Constitution and offline reading, read How to Read Statutes and the Constitution Offline.

Citation

Citation helps you build correct legal references. Instead of memorising the rules in the abstract, you put a reference together piece by piece and get instant feedback. This is the kind of skill that earns easy marks and matters in practice, so a little regular drilling pays off.

Courses

Courses brings your curriculum into neat topics: cases, concepts, statutes, and multiple choice quizzes.

  • Open a course to see its topics and how far you have got.
  • Work through the material, then test yourself with the quizzes.
  • Your progress is saved, so you can see how much of a course you have mastered.

Skills Lab Pro

Some decks, statute packs, and course content are part of Skills Lab Pro. This is the premium tier, with professionally prepared case summaries, statute analysis, and model answers, checked against your faculty curriculum and updated each semester.

Payment is not switched on yet, so for now the Pro button says Register Interest. Tapping it saves that you want Pro and takes you to the Essentials page, where your interest is marked as pending. A smoother in-app payment page is the next thing we are building. When it lands, the same button will let you subscribe.

To see how bundles and interest work, read How to Subscribe to Essentials Bundles.

A simple study routine

  1. Warm up with a short flashcard session in Cards.
  2. Read a section of an Act in Statutes, using the offline copy when you are away from wifi.
  3. Drill one reference in Citation.
  4. Finish with a quiz in Courses to check what stuck.

Fifteen focused minutes across these four tabs is a real study session, not just time spent.
